As the country starts to adjust to a less restricted life under Level 2, visitors to New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) donor centres and mobile drives will see some changes to its procedures as the Service aligns itself with the new alert level and reduction in risk, whilst continuing to keep safety at the heart of its operations.

Essential stock levels can only be maintained if donors continue to book appointments to donate New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) is sending a message of thanks to New Zealanders showing their support for blood donation during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Blood donation is considered an essential service, donor centres will remain open and New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) is urging all eligible, healthy blood donors to book an appointment, and keep their commitment to donating blood.
